This scale was my first series of paintings begun when teaching in North West London. I worked part time and set aside one day a week in the studio. I decided to maximise my time and reduced the overall size of my paintings.
These images are based on memories and reflections of travels in Egypt, Europe, Mexico, England and Scotland. I also developed some sections of abstraction and gestural reactions to remembering. These frames wrap around the image in a box form and I lime waxed the pine grain to enhance and soften the wood.
